Swimming lessons

We started our summer swimming lessons at Mounger pool this week. Lessons is a bit of a loose term, basically lots of open swim time, a few songs and a "skill of the day." On Monday the skill was to teach the babies how to blow bubbles in the water.  You're supposed to put your face in the water and blow in front of them so they copy you. I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical that a 10 month old could really execute on this, so I stopped doing the drill. Anyway the teacher (I think, who is probably sixteen or seventeen) comes up and says "Ok let's keep practicing!" I asked her "Do you think a ten month old can really do this?" She says to me "Well, sure, just keep doing it and then if he tries it and swallows a bunch of water tell him 'No, don't drink this water, it's very very icky! '" So needless to say we did not practice this skill anymore!
